The in situ execution of the central section of the deck of the new singular Arch Bridge of Valdebebas begins, which will connect with the T-4 of the Barajas Madrid airport crossing over the M-12 Highway. Last Friday two of the 4 sections of the central steel box girder of the deck were placed and today the other two sections left from Galicia to Madrid.
The 24.5 m wide deck is made up of 5 segments, of which this week the complete central box-girder on which the arch will be executed will be placed on site.
The central section of the deck and arch, 130 m long, will be assembled in an area adjacent to the final location of the bridge, supported on temporary props, and once completed they will be moved in a singular operation to their final location.
The arch bridge has a main span of 162 m and a total length of 207 m.
