“La Concordia” arch bridge has been inaugurated in Valdebebas, Madrid. Spain

“La Concordia” arch bridge connects Terminal T-4 of the Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas airport with Valdebebas crossing over the M-12 Highway, with a main span of 162 m, a total length of 207 m and a width of 24.5 m, and thus becomes the bridge with the greatest span in the Region of Madrid.

It has been many years of hard work since IDEAM SA won the ideas competition in 2007 with our proposal for an outstanding arch bridge that we proposed together with the architects Francisco José Domouso de AlbaLorenzo Fernández-Ordóñez Hernández and Emilio Rodríguez, and there have also been many engineers, technicians and draftsmen from the office who have participated in some of the phases of the competition, the Detailed Design and the Works Management.

Congratulations also to Junta de Compensación Parque de Valdebebas, promoter of the works, to the construction team and the central technical services of the constructor company Ferrovial for their tireless work, to the steel workshop Talleres DIZMAR and to the heavy-lifting company Mammoet, which carried out the complex translation operation of the central section of the arch.

We cannot be more satisfied and proud of the great work carried out by all those involved in this bridge, which has become the great gateway to Madrid.
