“La Concordia” new arch bridge, Valdebebas. Madrid

This week the corbels that provisionally supported the central segment of “La Concordia” arch bridge, supported on the ends of the bridge, were cut. The 4 corbels have withstood the load of almost 2,400 t of the central segment.

In recent weeks, the welding of the closing steel plates on each side has been carried out, leaving the bridge deck in continuity, working with the 162 m span.

The scaffolds arranged to access the arch are now ready for the interior concreting to be carried out in the coming days to materialize the composite section. While the work of laying the pre-slabs and reinforcing the deck slab continues.

“La Concordia” arch bridge will connect the Terminal T-4 of Barajas airport with Valdebebas crossing over the M-12 highway, with a main span of 162 m, a total length of 207 m and a width of 24.5 m, and will become the biggest span in the Region of Madrid.
