Last phase of the deck of the Tagus viaduct

The Movile Scafolding System of the Tagus Viaduct, in the strecth Cañaveral-Embalse de Alcántara on the Madrid-Extremadura High Speed Railway Line, is already in its last pouring position for the closing of the deck over the arch.

The viaduct has a total length of 1,488 m and the main span over the Tagus River, materialized by an arch of 324 m span, executed by cantilever method with the use of provisinal stays, is one of the largest arches executed at the present time in High Speed Railway Lines in the world.

IDEAM has participated since 2011 in a Joint Venture with AYESA as Technical Assistance to the Works Management.

Congratulations to all the fantastic team of the Joint Venture that has participated in the follow-up of the execution, as well as to all the agents involved in the works: ADIF Alta Velocidad, as Property and Construction Management, COPISA-COPSA Joint Venture as Main Contractor and Carlos Fernandez Casado, SL as Designer and Technical Advisor to the Contractor in the construction phase.
