New Bridge of Pumarejo

After the conclusion of the deck of the New Bridge of Pumarejo in Barranquilla, Colombia, SACYR has shared this video of its execution.

The cable-stayed section is 800 m in total length, 380 m of central span on the Magdalena River and 38.10 m in width, and thus becomes one of the largest bridges in the world in its typology. The cross section is a concrete box girder with lateral ribs and has been executed by equilibrated cantilever advance with 10 m in situ segments, one of the largest executions in the world in this type of bridges. The 618 m long access viaducts on the left side and 755 m on the right, with 70 m type spans, have been executed with a Movable Scaffolding System (MSS), manufactured specifically for the bridge by EBRD.

IDEAM has carried out the modified detailed design and technical assistance during execution for the SES Magdalena Consortium, led by SACYR. There have been more than 4 years of hard work. Congratulations to all the great group of professionals of the different companies that have participated in this great work and especially to the fantastic IDEAM team. What was a dream is already a reality !!!
