The load tests of the New Pumarejo Bridge over the Magdalena River in Barranquilla, Colombia, conclude. The cable-stayed section is 800 m in total length, 380 m of central span on the Magdalena River and 38.10 m in width, and thus becomes one of the largest bridges in the world in its typology. The 618 m long access viaducts on the left side and 755 m on the right, with 70 m type spans, have been executed with a Movable Scaffolding System (MSS), manufactured specifically for the bridge by EBRD. IDEAM, S.A. has carried out the modified detailed design, the design of the load tests and the technical assistance during execution for the SES Magdalena Consortium, led by SACYR. The bridge will be inaugurated by the president of Colombia on December 20.
