IDEAM SA is collaborating with the LAMAT Section 1 Consortium, led by Mota-Engil, carrying out the detailed design and technical assistance during the execution of the 3 composite (steel & concrete) viaducts of Section 1 of the Mayan Train with a total length of about 4,990 m, together with other smaller structures.
The 3 main Viaducts are:
– Tenosique, 2,920 m long
– Candelaria, 990 m long
– Escárcega, 1,080 m long
The composite viaducts, designed by IDEAM SA and manufactured by the steel workshop Recal Global, are executed with a succession of multiple isostatic spans with a typical span of 40 m, with a steel twin girder connected to the upper concrete slab, closing the lower torsional circuit by means of a steel inferior bracing, and are transported complete from Guadalajara by road, covering more than 1,330 km of distance.
For several weeks now, the works for the conclusion of the substructure, lifting of complete steel simply supported spans, and placement of upper prefabricated slabs have been carried out simultaneously.
